Balenciaga Pre-Fall 2010

This collection is genius. It makes me shiver in pure excitement. The shoes are once again, phenomenal, it kind of looks like the Alexander McQueen Armadillo heels (the texture), but I would say it is a more wearable version. I love the colors, textures and shapes of this collection. The left look on the 4th row is my absolute favorite. Love the yellow leggings. Love those shorts/skirts and the polka dotted wide girdle. I would so get one of those. The jacket in the right image on the 4th row is also amazingly beautiful. I love the cut, and the origami effect that it has. The two printed dress in the 2nd row's color kind of remind me of Christopher Kane's prints, so not a really big fan of those. But I however, do love that yellow coat in the 2nd row. So clean, so simple yet so fun! The polka dotted harem trousers in the 3rd row is my favorite piece from this collection. Though it does not really say "Balenciaga" on there. It is more mercibeaucoup, or Luella. Speaking of which, will bring a tear to my eyes, since Luella is gone now, and it was one of my favorite houses. But I can see a lot of yellow, print dresses and POLKA DOTS being shown in the FW2010 collection. Can't wait!

This is perhaps the best Pre-Fall of 2010.

Donna Karan // Jason Wu // D&G - PRE-FALL 2010

Donna Karan

Horrible fabric. I don't know what else to say. This kind of fabric reminds me of curtains or drapery. And they were all over the place at the AI Global Fashion show, and now Donna Karan is using it. And it does not make it okay. It is still horrible.

*cringes*

Jason Wu

Same length, same basic silhouette, yet so cohesive and so different. I love how he is playing with texture and paying such tremendous attention to intricate little details. I love the idea of playing around with the same silhouette. It is really elegant and high-class. Tres chic!

D&G

What is going on!? Did they take some "Betsey Johnson" pill or something. Polka dots is one of my favorite, but it is so not D&G. But something about the fabrication and the stylization of these garments just seem cheap to me. Cheap and Tacky. First Versace, now D&G, what is going on? The polka dotted jump suit is so clowny, like CLOWN SUGAR! CAN YOU PLEASE MAKE ME A BALLOON LION?

What a way to end an already not so good day.
I need some fashion revive pill.

Maison Martin Margiela // Versace // Michael Kors // Giorgio Armani Pre-Fall 2010

Maison Martin Margiela

There were only like four pictures up at style.com so I only picked the two that I liked better.
The scarf on the left image is a must. I want one myself, or more likely, I will make one! And the trench coat on the right gives me a fashion orgasm! Deconstruction at its best. It is so stunning, so avant garde and so Maison Martin Margiela!

Can't wait to see more!

Versace

Tackiness at its best. My dear! What was Donatella Versace smoking when she created that orange dress. Orange is one of the most horrible color to appear on a garment. And these looks are not even sexy nor sophisticated, which are pretty much the "staple signatures" of Versace. They are just tacky. Like tacky in a "hot pink with fake purple dress" way. Oh, and let's not start about the shiny pleather.

I guess these two looks are okay. But I don't really see Versace in them. The right outfit is really Balmain to me. With the studs and the shoulders and the leggings! BALMAIN! The skirt on the left outfit is really interesting, but again, it is not very Versace.

I want to like these two looks, but something is just off. Again, ORANGE! The print dress on the right is lovely, but its a tad bit too childish and cheerful for Versace. I always picture the Versace woman as a strong and edgy woman who wears these dresses to kill seduce some men at the office dinner or at a local lounge bar.

However, I do appreciate the fact that Donatella Versace is thinking outside the box. Just not quite there yet! But I am definitely looking forward to FW2010!

Michael Kors

After looking at these looks, all I could say was "WTF!" Like these are so unoriginal. Project Runway contestants do a way better job than this, and this is the man who is judging them? Like seriously, I do not see anything special about this collection at all.

Until I saw this....

I wanted to cringe. This is so WALMART!

Giorgio Armani

Yes, this is Giorgio Armani and Yes, this is the Armani woman. But excuse me for a minute. What is up with the hair!? An updo would boost the overall image so much more. Bad styling!
Anyways, I have always loved Giorgio Armani suits, they are so modern and chic. I love how these jackets are not paired with skinny jeans like every other collections out there. However, I do not understand those "short culottes" that look like your next door dad's gym shorts that he wears when he mows the lawn. Not good. Not good.

Glam at its best. That coat on the left is amazing. Luxe and elegant. I love the shape of the blazer on the right. It is so interesting, though not exactly "new" and "original" but I seem to have a fondness for clothes in that kind of rounded shapes.

This is the dictionary definition of a Giorgio Armani woman. Sexy, sophisticated, and elegant while remaining a professional poise.

Hope tomorrow's shows are better!

Alexander Wang Pre-Fall 2010

Ah! So it's pre-fall season again. I felt like SS was just yesterday. I love how fast-paced fashion is. Anyway, Alexander Wang is one of my old crushes and his Pre-Fall 2010 collection kind of made me yawn. Though some pieces brightened my eyes as well.

OUI! TRES CHIC

I really like these three looks. I love the tailored mixed with skin-tight pants look. MINUS the open toes though, who wears open toes shoes in the Fall!? The third one kind of reminds me of what Marni did in SS10, the shorts over leggings thing, but whatever, Alexander Wang did it in all black. Oh. And I love how he is using an Asian model, in this case, Liu Wen.

Shorts over leggings again, I guess this will be the new trend next year? And as much as I hate open toe shoes, the heels in the right image is fierce. I love the one shouldered sweater in the left image. Wang can never do wrong when making sweaters! He is like the sweater person!

Two variations of LBDs. The left one is chic and simple, pretty much a wardrobe staple, but really, nothing new. The right one, I like the mesh and the kind of "vest" look it has going on.

NON! RECULEZ!

OMG! THE LEONA LEWIS CORSET!
This is horrible, after Leona Lewis has worn this practically EVERYWHERE and with EVERYTHING, this thing is getting on my nerves. I think it is so ugly. Seriously. Please, I do not want to see anyone wearing this (like I will, I'm living in VANCOUVER!) *laughs at myself*
Anyways... The hem part of the white shirt, however, is very interesting.

Talk about unflattering, enough said.

This just makes me think of skiiers shopping from Sport Check. Not a good thing.

I want to like this, but the shorts on leggings thing is kind of getting old. I think the mini jumpsuit would look a lot better without the leggings. If you are afraid of the cold, why not just wear a pair of pants. Why bother the fuss to wear leggings and then shorts over it, especially when it's in the same color. I am confused.

The pants look weird.

Anyways, this pre-fall collection is all black, with like two white pieces!? I hope Alexander Wang could use some other colors! Like GREY! But yeah, out of the 5 or 6 pre-fall images I've seen so far, this is the best. However, the best Alexander Wang shows for me are still SS2009 and FW2008. Like, they were mesmerizing. Now, these are just kind of, "I think I like it, but something is wrong about it."
